Second Sunday of Easter

‘Seeing is believing’ is a popular saying. However ‘seeing’ is just first hand knowledge where as believing depends upon signs and proclamations. In today’s Gospel, Thomas refuses to believe in the Lord’s resurrection but upon seeing a sign he confessed ‘My Lord and my God.’ St Gregory wrote that Thomas saw Christ’s humanity but believed in his divinity. We did not see but we have heard the Church’s proclamation and believe. “Happy are those who do not see and yet believe”
